Memorial evening was beautiful in Haiti this year. I was invited to give the talk in the Santo Assembly for the Santo and Tamarin congregations combined.
The invitation work that began on April 2nd went very well. We were able to completely cover our territory in Bas-Santo with the special campaign.
Back in 1988 upon arriving in Bethel in Haiti, we started a new congregation called the Santo congregation. We were only 39 publishers at the time, but has given birth to over 10 congregations since then due to the growth in this part of the city. It was there exactly twenty years ago, in 1991 that I gave my first Memorial talk in Haiti. It was nice to see the brothers and sisters again. There was a total attendance of 774 tonight for the two congregations. Fifteen minutes after the program ended, there was a quick downpour of rain that only lasted five minutes. Hopefully all of the friends were able to make it home without getting wet. We hope that the rain did not hinder the celebration for other congregations.
Here are some of the attendance figures that we have heard of so far. As you can see below, an amazing number of people responded to the invitation to attend this important celebration.
